Elder Stevenson, June 16th, 2025

This has been one of the most spiritual weeks of my entire life for sure, hands down. Big claim, eh? But así es.

Brief recap because it's late

- it rained a lot this week and the temperatures were around 5 all week. All the hills and mountains surrounding us are covered in snow now and it's incredible!

- we had interviews with our president this week. It was one of the best ones yet, I know I pretty much say that everything but this one was different.

- then three of our friends accepted baptismal dates. Please pray for Hugo, Amandita, Celeni, and also for Valeria. Those were miraculous moments.

- then on Saturday we had to wake up bright and early at 4am to go to a mission wide conference. This was the crowning moment of the week for sure. Our mission got visited by an apostle of the Lord. There are only 15 in the world. Elder Gary E. Stevenson visited us. It was rather hot in the room where we were all gathered, my eyes couldn't stop sweating the whole time. The spirit was very strong in the room. After it ended I had zero desire to talk to anyone, just sit there and feel connected to God. He blessed us that the Lord will consecrate our afflictions for our gain. I testify that God has living prophets and apostles on the earth today.

- then after that meeting we went to the stake center and watched a nation wide church celebration which was absolutely amazing!

Spiritual thought: Elder Stevenson brought this up, 1 Nephi 1:1

"1 I, Nephi, having been born of goodly parents, therefore I was taught somewhat in all the learning of my father; and having seen many afflictions in the course of my days, nevertheless, having been highly favored of the Lord in all my days; yea, having had a great knowledge of the goodness and the mysteries of God."

This life isn't meant to be easy, the prophet Nephi saw many afflictions in the course of his days but nevertheless saw the steady hand of the Lord throughout. We can trust God that we aren't alone in our trials, that each part is necessary, that hopefully we can look to God during our trials and cling onto Him.

Challenge of the week: say a prayer and ask God "who do I need to contact today?" "Who needs me?" I promise you God will reveal it unto you and you will bless the life of someone.

Love you all!!

Elder Spencer
