Hola! Short email this week, not very well organized or written but thats a-ok.
I'm starting to settle into this new area more! I'm becoming more familiar with the streets and the people. I'm finding out the good places to eat, the streets to avoid at certain times of the day, what days the outdoor market is (Tuesday and Friday if your curious haha), and more! The members of the church here are very nice and willing to help!
This week and a bit last week I've had the opportunity to share about my great grandpa! I forget how those opportunities come up but they do! My great grandpa is the Candy Bomber at the end of WWII, search him up if you've never heard of him. It is fun to share this family story and it is always wonderful to see peoples faces brighten up as I talk about him.
I had a cool experience at a members home a couple days ago. We were going to give them some books to give out to some friends. And I found out a couple hours before that I'd be teaching alone how to give them out. I had no idea how to teach it or what I'd do. We got to their house, ate some burgers with green beans and talk for a bit. Then it was time for me to teach and I still couldn't decide. Thats when I felt like I should turn to the scriptures, because in the scriptures we can find answers to cualquier question! So I opened up and flipped to the story of Ammon and I taught from the Book of Mormon that story specifically, reading with them, explaining to them, and teaching them. I was led by the spirit to which verses to read, when I spoke I could feel my words come out like a steady flow of Spanish. It was pretty cool! They got very excited to give it a try, and I'm excited to see the fruits!
Since I'm not the pianist for the ward anymore, I decided to join the church choir! They needed another tenor (as they only had 1 before), so I'm excited to dust off the good ol' vocal chords!
That's about it for my week, lots of walking in the sun, Spanish 24/7 with my comp, etc.
Spiritual thought 1 Nephi 3:7
"7 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them."
I have seen this happen countless times on my mission, God has given me this work to do, and he has given me a way to accomplish his work. One example being the story I shared! Sometimes we see God's commandments and they seem difficult or we don't know the best way to follow, and that's ok! Because God has a way prepared for you! You just might not see it until in the moment like I did. But God won't leave you hanging!
Question of the week: How can you trust in God's way?
Have a good week everyone!
Oh yeah I also completed 1/4 of my mission! So that's exciting!
